Placket Hack addresses a common barrier in adaptive dressing: traditional button plackets are difficult or impossible to use independently for people with limited hand mobility. Working with our MDA collaborators, we designed a modular placket insert that replaces standard buttons with a hidden magnetic or hook-and-eye fastening system, while preserving the look of a conventional shirt front.

The result is a "hack" that can be retrofit onto existing garments — no sewing required — giving people more choice over the clothes they wear without sacrificing style for function.
